We’re happy to play a role, big or small, in the growth and prosperity of our hometown. That’s why helping Nucor Steel Marion, Inc. with various construction-related activities was such a no-brainer.
For Nucor, an upcoming $85 million investment will ensure Nucor remains a contributor to the local community. In addition, this project will put another approximately 15 Central Ohioans to work.
Marion, OH was built on the foundations of industry. In August 2016, our hometown celebrated “100 years of steel heritage.” The local plant was once Pollak Steel, which sold to Armco, Inc. in 1970. Marion Steel Co. then assumed control in 1981 until Nucor’s acquisition in 2005. In 2015, Nucor Steel Marion was named the United Way’s Corporate Citizen of the Year.
This year, we’ve begun highlighting construction projects that could mean something special for our community. In February, we highlighted Harding 2020: From Marion to the White House. Whether it’s demolition, underground utilities, asphalt paving, or any other type of civil construction, even the smallest commercial projects have the potential to impact many people and businesses.
